DIY Boho Hair Feather

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!

I've scheduled in a tutorial for you all, even though today is my birthday-aren't I good to you?!

During my many Pinterest browsing sessions, I'm contstantly coming across clip-in hair feathers and I've really fallen for them.

Since growing my hair out (it used to be in a short bob and it's taken FOREVER to grow!), I love finding different bits and pieces to accessories with; even better when those accessories are DIY-able!

So, I decided to take a stab at making my own version and here's how it turned out:
I didn't use actual feathers as I couldn't find any in my local craft shop.
Being the super-impatient person I am, I didn't want to wait until I found some feathers, so I decided to create petals from light broderie-anglaise fabric instead. Once I get an idea, I can't rest until I've seen it through!!

It's always nice to put my own spin on the projects I do anyway :-) I would like to try this with feathers one day though.

To create your own Boho hair feather, you will need:

-Light-weight fabric of some kind
-Length of thin leather rope
-Length of thin chain
-Beads
-Medium jump/split rings
-Metal head pin (flat end)
-Jewellery wire
-Round-nosed jewellery pliers
-Hair clip

Here's the how to:

Now you have your very own Boho hair feather! How simple was that?
I can't wait to wear this on holiday-it's such a nice way to accessorise my hair. I might make another one in more neutral shades of browns and oranges.
As always, I hope you're feeling inspired after this tutorial!

I've got my birthday tea party on Sunday so you can be sure to expect lots of tutorials from me over the next few weeks, including some tasty treats and fun decoration projects.

I'm off on holiday soon too and will be featuring some great guest posts from some of my lovely blogging friends :-)

Most importantly, tomorrow I'm hosting my first ever giveaway so make sure you check back to be in with the chance to win!

I'm keeping the prize a secret until tomorrow though, so if you're curious, pay me a visit!

Phew! It's going to be a busy few weeks, I'm telling you.

Have a fabulous Friday and pop back tomorrow to enter the giveaway :-)
